Let’s stay with the Dr Who theme shall we?
Welcome to SFS 2024 Michael Troughton!
When you get the chance to have the son of the second Doctor Patrick Troughton at SFS you can’t say no, of course he’s appeared in Dr Who, playing Alan Smithe in the episode Last Christmas with Peter Capaldi.
Michael will also be remembered for playing the simpering Piers Fletcher-Dervish in The New Statesman with Rik Mayall, and alongside Dougray Scott, Kate Winslet and SFS co-star Angus MacInnes in the 2001 thriller Enigma.
Michael also voiced a number of characters for Big Finish’s audio adventures, including taking over the role of the Second Doctor. He also wrote his father’s biography, Patrick Troughton: The Biography of the Second Doctor Who, which was published in 2012. He also shared his memories of his father for the audio commentary of the DVD releases of The Underwater Menace and The Ice Warriors.
Michael will be joining us for the whole weekend.
