We have a couple of FANTASTIC authors to step into the spare panel slot left by Adrian Tchaikovsky on Sunday 1pm – 1.45pm!
Make sure you don’t miss it!!
Kate Baucherel and Mark Hayes both write for the Harvey Duckman Presents anthologies and are regulars at SciFi Scarborough.
Mark’s work includes the Hannibal Smyth steampunk adventures, Cider Lane, Maybe, The Passing Place, and his latest magical historical fantasy, Lucifer Mandrake: the Esoteric Cricket Ball. His comprehensive guide to the works of Lovecraft, the Lexicomicron, has attracted attention from Lovecraft chroniclers. He describes himself as “A messy, complicated sort of entity. Quantum Pagan. Occasional weregoth. Knows where his spoon is, do you?”
Kate’s near future cybercrime series started out as a challenge to write a cyber security book as fiction. One thing led to another and she’s now working on the sixth book, Quantum Breach, and has been in early stage discussions with Dark Horse around adaptation. Her latest novel, The Travels of Finch, is a light hearted departure from cybercrime, following a young avian on their round the galaxy rite of passage tour. Kate’s serious writing on technology has been published by Harvard and by the British Computer Society, and she regularly appears on the BBC as a cryptocurrency expert.
