Jon Campling

A big welcome back for Mr Jon Campling to SFS 2017!
Jon has gone from strength to strength since making his convention debut with us back in 2015 and we are delighted to have him return for the whole weekend, that beard! that hair! those eyes! He is a beautiful man we are sure you will agree….

Yorkshire born and bred, Jon left his home town of Hull and his job in an aircraft factory to chase the crazy ‘Acting’ dream back in 1989. After 3 years at Drama School in Birmingham h…e emerged as a trained actor and began a 28 year adventure taking him all over the world. After moving to London in 1994 Jon spent several years performing theatre on the fringe, originally playing good guys and romantic leads but he quickly realised bad guy’s had more fun. After an image change

Jon was cast by Director David Yates as that iconic train stopping Deatheater in the 7th Harry Potter film The Deathly Hallows. A move away from theatre has led to over 70 IMBD credits as a vast array of unique and challenging characters, the most recent being the fabulous KING REGIS in the stunning FINAL FANTASY XV feature KINGSGLAIVE and in the accompanying game. You may also have seen him in a few big commercials including Specsavers, Ted Baker, Ford & Leerdammer. Sci-Fi Scarborough 2015 was Jon’s first ever Convention, and as such it has a special place in his black, evil heart.
Jon will be holding his amazing Wand Battle Workshop each day with limited places of 15 per session at £5, you can reserve a place for your little wizard, email enquiries@scifiscarborough.co.uk.
On top of that Jon will be performing a daily reading of the first chapter of The Philosophers Stone in the theatre, they will take 20 mins and are free to all!
It just wouldn’t be SFS without Mr Campling & his special brand of Magic!
